Professor Mariola Marczak analyses the enduring elements of Russian communication strategies—features that remain unchanged regardless of the political system or those in power. One of these is the cult of personality, which is also a constant component of Russian political and social consciousness.
Dr habil. Mariola Marczak, Professor at UWM’s Department of Social Communication and Media, explores how film has been used by Russia as a propaganda tool, using Sergei Eisenstein’s Alexander Nevsky as a key example of cinematic manipulation.
Her research interests include cinema, representations of religion in audiovisual media, sociological analysis of media messages, and the transformation of audiovisual communication in the age of cyberculture.
