Kremlin Figures Hysterical After Donald Tusk’s Remarks

Russian propaganda and disinformation, while using modern technologies,  still relies heavily on Soviet-era tactics. In the past, figures such as Winston  Churchill, Konrad Adenauer and Ronald Reagan were branded warmongers.  Now Russian propaganda has added Poland’s prime minister, Donald Tusk,  to that list.

The reaction follows a request from Germany for Poland to extradite a  Ukrainian citizen suspected of involvement in the explosion of the Nord  Stream 2 gas pipeline. A Polish court rejected the request in October 2025.

The court ruled that the the blowing up of a hostile nation’s critical  infrastructure by special services or terrorist groups during peacetime  constitutes sabotage and is a crime. “However, actions carried out by armed  forces or special operations in wartime against an aggressor’s critical  infrastructure are acts of diversion, not sabotage, and should not be  considered criminal.”

“In other words, if Ukraine — assuming it was Ukraine, its special forces and  the person being prosecuted — organised an armed mission to destroy the  enemy’s pipelines, those actions would not have been unlawful. On the  contrary, they would have been justified, rational and fair, ” the judge said.

Prime Minister Tusk referred to that ruling in an interview with The Times,  saying that Ukraine has the right to attack targets associated with Russia in  Europe.

A wave of hysteria swept through Russian media in response. Kremlin press  secretary Dmitry Peskov described the Polish prime minister’s remarks as  condoning terrorism and suggested that NATO and EU members should  seriously reconsider their alliances with Poland.

“Any sound-minded person, placing themselves in the position of European,  would be wary of forming such a close alliance with a country that justifies  terrorism and defends the right of other states to carry out terrorist acts,” he  said.

Meantime, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry,  said: “The Polish authorities demonstrate a complete disregard for  international law and directly encourage terrorist acts when they harm  Russia.”

Zakharova also accused the “Biden administration” of being the instigator,  claiming the US had declared an intention to ensure the pipeline’s destruction  and thus “openly stated their interest and intentions.” She added that “Russia has evidence of US and UK involvement in the attempted sabotage of Nord  Stream 2.”

Other Russian politicians went even further. Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov of  the Federation Council accused Poland of inciting World War III and issued  implicit threats against Poland and other countries.

“A politician of this calibre must understand that Russia also has the right to  attack countries that supply weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces or serve  as transit bases for supplying the Ukrainian army,” he said.

Dzhabarov added that Tusk “seems to have forgotten his country’s history,”  and warned that “successive marches against Russia” had ended tragically in  the past.

Meantime, Alexei Pushkov, a senator and chairman of the Information Policy  Committee, wrote that Tusk, “constantly trying to drag other EU and NATO  countries into a war with Russia, does not seem to understand that the  inevitable victim of such a war, should it occur, would be Poland itself.”

Rounding things off, the ‘cherry on top’, is an interview that Alexei Leonkov,  a military analyst and editor for “Arsenal of the Fatherland” magazine, gave to  “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.

At the end of the interview the MK journalist asked him two questions:

— Does this mean that Poland is calling for the start of a terrorist war in  Europe, not only against Russia but also against European countries? — I  suspect that behind such decisions by Poland are the masters of total terrorist  war, in which everything and everyone is destroyed by the hands of terrorists  — the British. This is their invention. Such a war — covert but hidden — is  waged primarily against the civilian population.

— If Russian facilities in Europe are indeed attacked, who will we strike?

— The one who called for it. If the leader of an armed formation declares war  — jihad — on us, what do we do? We eliminate the leader of that terrorist  organisation. This is, of course, a last resort. But what else can be done if  Poland becomes a state of terror? Maybe they will even start training  terrorists there?

He added: “The British have long been preparing the Poles to ultimately  throw them onto Russian bayonets. That is why the Poles are going all out.”
