“Does the future belong to information or to disinformation?” asks Professor Melnyk. “We live in a world devoid of fundamental truth. This goes hand in hand with the phenomenon of deliberate deception. We live in an age of disinformation, which is why we must approach everything we encounter on social media with great caution and scepticism. We should therefore seek out verified and reliable sources of information.”

Professor Marek Melnyk, a scholar of religion specialising in the history of Central  and Eastern Europe, culture, and Polish–Ukrainian relations, is affiliated with the  University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

We spoke with him about the dangers disinformation poses to young people.
