Supposedly, 15,000 Poles were killed in Ukraine. Who is  behind this claim?

"Impressive numbers." That's how State Duma deputy Alexander Borodai  described the fabricated number of 15,000 Poles supposedly killed by  Russian forces. He was referring to Polish volunteers fighting on the  Ukrainian side.

Borodai shared these lies with NEWS.ru.

“The Poles themselves, during the Special Military Operation, have lost – and  I emphasise – not the total of wounded and killed together, not the ‘300s’  (wounded) or the ‘200s’ (killed), but only those killed – around 15,000 of their  fighters. These are impressive numbers,” Borodai said.

According to him, these figures reflect the significant involvement of Polish  military personnel in the conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.  He also added that Russia is defending its own territory, while Poland treats  Ukraine as a zone of its strategic interests.

“The fact that Poland has lost 15,000 of its fighters shows that the Polish  armed forces have been very actively engaged in the fight for Ukraine. We  are fighting for our land. They believe that this is their land, their borderland,  their territory, which they have long called Ukraine,” Borodai concluded.

The Russian portal also recalled that earlier, deputy Alexei Chepa claimed  that Poland could count on support from certain NATO countries in its  territorial claims over western Ukraine. He highlighted the large number of  Ukrainian citizens holding dual citizenship, including Polish, Hungarian, and  Romanian.
